I have promised to you guys many times that along with some conventional products, I shall review on the products that are lesser known. Take a note here that lesser known products do not mean bad products. They may be expensive or limitedly available. I have reviewed on various imported makeup items in past. I have reviewed only a few products from NYX. So, here comes a review on a product from this makeup brand. Today, I have chosen to review on NYX Matte Lipstick Perfect Red. I am using this product for 2-3 months. This is bridal season, and thus for party makeup I need some good lipstick. In quest of that, I have chosen this product. So, how is my experience with this? I will share things below:

Availability And Shades

NYX is a popular makeup brand, though it is not a frontline brand in India yet. Thus, availability of products from this manufacturer is limited. NYX matte lipsticks come with more than 45 shades. So, finding a shade as per your preference at local store would be difficult. I would suggest you to purchase products online, like I did. I have faced absolutely no hassle in buying the product online.

My Experience With NYX Matte Lipstick Perfect Red

• Packaging: Truly brilliant packaging – chic matte black texture for a matte lipstick with a clever addition of the transparent panel in the middle. You can see the actual product shade from the packaging.
• Color and pigmentation: MLS 10 Perfect Red is a true red color with quite a lot of blue undertones. Blue-based reds are great for those with cool toned skin.
• Pigmentation-wise, these products are beyond amazing. The swatch below was done with a single swipe. I will suggest that you use a lip brush to apply this, or to apply any bright-colored lipsticks.
• Longevity: NYX Matte Lipstick Perfect Red is not as transfer-proof as the soft matte lip creams. Even after two meals, I still had bright red lips. Yes, it did fade a little bit and it wasn’t as bright as initial application, but the fading was minimal. It lasted me a good 12 hours with NO touch-ups.

What I like about this lipstick is that, the longer it stayed on my lips the more it became matte. Even though it’s matte, this doesn’t dry out my lips. It’s highly pigmented too. I’m glad that this performs way better than their round lipsticks. I’m also quite happy about the smell, it’s barely noticeable.

Lastly, the lipstick tube goes all the way in when twisted, so it is easier to close and I won’t have to worry about hitting the product with the cap.

Final Verdict

I will have to say I am pretty impressed with NYX Matte Lipstick Perfect Red. It is an unusual shade of red and I love it a lot. Overall, this is a pretty good lipstick. I will definitely buy other shades. I would recommend this to matte lipstick lovers out there.
